The RX-2 uses a "gas spring" powerplant. A sealed chamber of air is
actually the mainspring of this amazing
air rifle. The RX-2 is cocked like any
other barrel-cocking spring piston air
rifle, the single cocking action
compresses a cylinder of air, when the
trigger is pulled the compressed air
expands and drives the piston forward,
thus discharging the pellet. Unlike a
pneumatic or precharged airgun, the
sealed air is never released. And unlike a
steel mainspring, a "gas spring" can never
take a set, or tire with age.
The RX-2 is available in .177, .20 and
22 calibers. Standard all metal tunnel
foresight with interchangeable inserts, all
metal rear sight with click micrometer
adjustment for windage and elevation.
The RX-2 comes with 11 mm grooves
machined into the top of the receiver for
scope use. The classy laminated wood
stock is incredibly tough and durable,
and less likely to be affected by adverse
weather conditions. The non-adjustable
two-stage "Elite" trigger unit is crisp and
predictable. The resettable automatic
safety is located in front of the cast metal
trigger guard.
Due to the extremely short lock time
this air rifle has instead of recoil, a jolt
during firing. The shorter lock time
however aids in field accuracy, as there is
less time for the shooter to "pull" off the
target. And optional "Super Gas" charge
by the Beeman gunsmiths will aid in
smoothing the cocking effort and firing
motion.
The RX-2 is truly a delightful airgun
with superior power; a must have for
every hunters collection. |
